I got some new alcohol inks the other day. they are called Zig kurecolor refill ink and come in lovely clean shades. Here I have used the blue, green and yellow. The pinks are ranger A. I.s.
The 2 brands work well together and I used ranger blending fluid.
These are ATCs.

Sunday 28 December 2008

I have entered this card in the latest Trimcraft challenge for a new year project.

I thought it would be nice to post it here to wish you all AVery Happy New Year

At last! Finally managed to upload this card.I made it using Zig kurecolor alcohol inks on a clear disc with a disc of white paper stamped with fairy images stuck behind the clear disc. The clear discs are the ones that hold stacks of cds in place. Don't throw them away, they are good for crafting with. You can also sand off the backing on old cds to get a clear disc.

I am trying to add pictures but it won't accept them, keep getting edit even when I have deleted the previous post. Getting frustrated now.

Pop over to Liannas blog for amazing blog candy

Thursday 18 December 2008

A watercolour sketch of Sunny the lovely Sheltie who shared our lives for nearly 13 years. he has been gone a long time now but will never be forgotten. I think of him a lot at this time of year.
I know I'm not very good at painting, couldn't afford lessons, just feeling a bit sentimental about him today.

This was a biscuit tin which I decorated for my daughter to keep some of her stash in.

I made this from recycled cardboard from a cereal box covered in glitter. The numbers were cut from a left over card and I added paper cellar embellishments and 2 odd gems left over from another project.
Pop over and check out the Tilda blog candy on this blog.
I have been trying to add some cards for men but being a novice, must have done something wrong and lost the first ones, so here are a few more. Hope it works this time.

I love doing these fairies
I think its finally working again. Hooray! When I began crafting I was rubbish at stamping but enjoyed decoupage, so I did loads of that. I enjoy doing detailed ones with lots of layers. I have a boxfull just waiting to be added to cards, or to scrapbook pages. I like fairy ones best but its easier to do the cutting than to make the cards.
The pink one is from a flower fairy kit, so the design was already sorted.

I was trying to upload some images when my router crashed. Now I have lost them and have no idea how to recover them. It won't let me add new images. so I am feeling quite frustrated. It happened last time and I eventually managed to start again but forget how I did it. Typical, I am such a novice when it comes to computers.

Thursday 27 November 2008

These are a few of the cards I have made using the new Magnolia winter colletion. Have just wasted 20 mins. trying to upload these only to discover that my router needed rebooting.

I was so busy scrapping the wedding that I almost forgot to make my son a birthday card. As he was born at 11am on the 11th of November, its hard to forget! So i took a break from scrapping and backed an encaustic picture with gold coloured paper, popped it into an aperture card which I bordered with black peel offs and added a sticker and his name. As his sister, Crafty Claire, says its very "him", so I hope he will agree.

Thursday 6 November 2008

We had a very busy weekend. Travelled to Wales for a family wedding on friday afternoon, wedding was on saturday and travelled back sunday. I have been busy scrapping the photos all week. I have now done 17 pages and hope to finish the last 3 tomorrow. Here are just a few of them.

More candy

Diane aka Pink Sunflower is offering some great blog candy on her blog. It closes on the 11th Nov.

Blog candy.

I have just been looking at Olgas wonderful blog. http://saturdaysecrets.blogspot.com/2008/10/my-first-blog-candy.html
She is offering some gorgeous blog candy but be quick as it closes soon.
I received these beautiful encaustic art RAKs as a surprise from my friend Tazzy today. She is new to this art form and I think they are stunning. They made my day.

Thursday 30 October 2008

These started off as cereal boxes.I painted them with acrylic paint and sprinkled cheap glitters over them .when dry I painted some cheap varnish on top and sprinkled more glitter on until they were fully covered. There is probably a better method and I will play about when I have time. They cut easily through the cuttlebug and the glitter stays on. I have cut some frame shapes using the 'bug which I will use in a scrapbook....eventually.

I wasn't keen on stamping before I discovered the lovely Tilda and Edwin but love using them as they are so easy and versatile. I am becoming addicted now.

Tuesday 28 October 2008

These are postcard size encaustics, done in the first week I had the kit. I had no instruction book then and just played about with it. I tend to still do that as I find it easier.I have the book now but I think its best to go with whatever suits the individual.

Encaustic Art ATCs

I was recently given an Encaustic Art kit. Encaustic art is basically painting with hot wax using a special iron. I absolutely love it and these are 3 Atcs which I swapped with Trimcraft friends.

I enjoy doing decoupage and this fairy card was one of my early attempts. The dog was a first try at a card for a man. The Tilda was a more recent one.
